The two principals behind WEUS, the Big 810 AM are the father and son team of Carl Como Tutera and Carmine Tutera. Both have lived in Florida for the past 30 years.

Carl Como is celebrating 50 years in the broadcasting industry. Having been in the programming side for a decade followed by managing several major market radio station for Bartell Communications, a driving force in radio in the late 60's and 70's. He was a V.P. & General Managers at two Bartell Stations in Miami and Detroit. Carl also worked for the Bartell family as an on the air talent ending his stint as a D.J. in 1970.

Carl started his career in ownership in the 70's as he built stations in the midwest and the south. He has put radio stations on the air in various markets all across the United States.

Carmine Tutera worked as a D.J. on the family station in Daytona Beach and started at the ripe young age of 16. He held down the night spot on WNFI FM the 100,000 Watt Rock giant while he was in school. Carmine worked as a account sales executive in the 90's for CBS Radio in Chicago. He was the General Manager of an FM Station in Albuquerque, N.W. , another station that boasted 100,000 watts of power programming current rock hits.

Carmine co-built and founded WEFL AM in West Palm Beach, Florida during the early part of the last decade.

Prior to working, Carmine attended Father Lopez High School in Daytona and attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, graduating from University of Central Florida.

In early 2000, they applied to the FCC for authority to operate a brand new Radio Station licensed to Orlovista, Florida

The License was granted and the station was built on a 40 acre parcel in the heart of the city at Mercy and Princeton in Orlando.

The Station utilizes the latest in high technology with its state-of-the-art studio located in the Scan Design building in Altamonte Springs.

The Station covers all of Central Florida with a daytime power of 10 Thousand Watts. The 810 AM dial position is the most desirable location since it is right in the middle of the AM radio spectrum and free from the interference problems faced by other stations at the upper end of the dial.

The frequency on 810 AM makes WEUS a clear channel frequency as stated by the Federal Communications Commission. Simple put, the dial position does not have an abundance of radio stations on that frequency.
